52 Weeks Discussion > Week 1, Day 4 thoughts - Genesis 10-12

I like the fact that the author reminds us of Abraham's example of life. His quote at the end of the study, "Abram exemplifies the fine line between walking by faith and walking by sight and between walking in the Spirit and walking in the flesh." I guess what strikes me about this is that it is a good reminder of how fallible we as men are. All too often, we have these lofty ideas that all these great men of the faith were just about perfect. But you know what? Even Abram had his problems, too. Instead of trusting God and staying in the promised land, he chickened out and went to Egypt to survive through the famine -- as if God wasn't able to provide for him there in the land of Canaan. How often do we do the same thing? I suspect that if we examine ourselves and be honest with ourselves, we all could list off a litany of examples where we've done the same thing.
