52 Weeks Discussion > Week 1: Day 3: GenesisĀ 7-9

I hope you all are enjoying this Bible study as much as I am and are growing in grace and knowledge (2 Peter 3:18). I am always amazed when I start seeing a patterns emerge and as the book said this morning, we see at least two of those come from the recounting of the flood. 1) God punishes sin and 2) There must be death to the old before He will establish the new. However, I also saw another pattern of drawing close to God and then turning back to our old ways into sin. We humans have a bad habit of turning to God when things aren't going well, but then when life seems to return to normal and the trials are not coming we fall back into our own ways. Isaiah 53:6 says, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;" (KJV).This happened with Noah, the Isrealites and it will be seen again over and over throughout the Bible as we continue forward. Thankfully we have a merciful and forgiving God who continues to give us chances we don't deserve. Psalm 86:15 says, "But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth". What a wonderful promise we have that no matter what we have done in our lives God will continue to forgive and if we are willing to be filled with the Holy Spirit and led by Him, He can use us.

I have thought a lot about Genesis 9:20-27. I do not agree with the author of the book. I do not see anywhere it says that a homosexual act was done. Ham just saw his father naked, and told his brothers.
I read what Pastor Ken said on the men's discussions and agree with him.
