52 Weeks Discussion > Week 2, Day 3 thoughts - Genesis 22-24

The observations the author made in Isaac's relationship to his bride I thought were quite insightful. I'd never really thought about those particular pictures before. It always amazes me how God has woven this incredible tapestry of His kingdom. It's kind of like looking at a tapestry, actually. You look at the back side of the tapestry and see the individual threads and how they just seemed "lumped" together, and by looking at the back side, you may not even be able to tell what the picture on the front side is supposed to be. But then you turn it over and look at the front side and see the beauty of how it's all woven together to present a completed work of art. That's what the machinations of God does with each person in Christ. We're like those individual threads and sometimes it's hard to see how we can possibly make a difference. But we don't see the completed picture. We have to remember that we're part of that, and that one day, that completed picture will be visible.

It seems that in every reading we are reminded of faith - God’s faithfulness and the importance of our faith in God. I am truly a work in progress.

How is Rebekah a Gentile? Isn’t she the grand-daughter of Abraham’s brother Nabor?
