Sift together
1 1/2 cups corn meal (fresh ground if you can with some kernel bits left in)
2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp salt
Mix in
2 1/2 cups milk ( FOR Nate Friendly please use soy milk)
2 eggs, well beaten
4 Tbsp melted shortening
Spoon into a canola oiled 9x13 pan. Bake 25-30 minutes @ 350 degree oven.
